How to Make a Start in Ministry

- We learn People & Tech Skills.
- We learn how to Build a People Platform & a Tech Platform.
I was asked how to make a start in giving out to others.
- Here is my answer.
Starting is a simple matter of making a beginning.
- Then doing some more.
- Then making a mid-course correction to do what you are doing better.
- We learn as we go.
- The key is to make a start.
There are 2 things that we must learn.
- Skills
- How to build a Platform
There are 2 Kinds of Skills to learn.
- People Skills
- Tech Skills
There are 2 Kinds of Platforms to Build.
- People Platform
- Tech Platform
I will illustrate both types of Skills by a testimony.
- A testimony of my experience of facilitating an Encounter Group the first time.
I had to learn The Tech Skills of how to use Zoom.
- Not just as one going to an Encounter on Zoom.
- I had to learn how to set up the meeting.
- How to make Zoom work during the Encounter.
- I had a 1-hour tutoring session from someone who had those skills.
- You can learn these skills very easily on Zoom.
- Zoom has short, recorded tutorials that they provide.
- Of course, you begin with Zoom by buying the Pro Version.
- This version allows you to do a meeting that is longer than 40 minutes.
I had to learn The People Skills of how to facilitate the actual Encounter.
- I met with someone else for an hour.
- They taught me the needed basics about how to facilitate the actual Encounter.
- You can learn these skills by listening to someone facilitate encounters.
- Live or on a recording.
- Everything else is learning while doing.
Learning Skills
- We start learning these skills.
- We learn by observation or listening to recordings.
- The rest is what I call on-the-job-training.
- We learn as we go.
That was People & Tech Skills.
- Now we go on to The Platform.
- We build a Platform both of Tech & People.
Tech Platform
- Face Book page
- Face Book Messenger Chats
- U Tube or Bit Chute
- Zoom Account.
- Possibly a Web Page.
- Publish new posts, recordings etc regularly.
- This causes the Tech companies to put you closer to the front of the line.
- You get more promotion by them.
- It also builds an audience.
People Platform
- You will be gathering.
- Growing a group of people who will follow you.
- Your example in this is Yeshua.
- Follow His example.
Before you can Gather you must Sow.
- Begin with Sowing truth into people.
- Move on to gathering those who respond into groups.
- Move on to Teaching them.
- Move on to forming Encounter Groups.
You may be more comfortable facilitating Encounters than you are Teaching.
- In this case skip Teaching & go directly to Starting an Encounter Group.
Now we come to the question of how best to do this?
- It is best to make this Journey in the company of others.
- With others who are on the same journey.
- Some side-by-side.
- Some up ahead of you.
Yeshua trained 12 at one time.
- The 12 Journeyed together following Him.
I would be glad to be available to you as a resource as you begin this Journey.
- I will always respond to genuine interest especially when accompanied by action.
- Few progress past receiving to begin to giving out beginning with Sowing.
- You are one of the Few.
- I honor you for being ready to Start.
