THE NEW WINESKIN GIVING Patience Hagan 6/6/2019
- Giving is a Grace; one of the New Wine Skin’s graces.
- Grace is the divine enablement of God imparted to you to do the seemingly impossible.
- Grace is receiving a blessing or favor you didn’t work for or earn or even don’t deserve.
- John 1:16 – “And of his fullness have all we received, and grace for grace.”
- It is also the giving of a blessing or favor to someone who doesn’t even deserve it.
The Grace of giving comes into play when we realize all we have is by Grace; God’s grace and so we step into Grace and give to others.
- Ephesians 2:8-9 – “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God…”
- Romans 5:8 – “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us…”. Grace!
- God giving his only begotten son to a sinful world is an Act of Grace. We received this grace and then also give to others.
- God gave his only Son. Grace giving is not waiting to get plenty and then give.
- The old widow Jesus observed gave out of her need, not out of an abundance.
- Jesus highly commended her because out of the abundance of her heart she was giving.
The fullness of grace.
- This is when we know or experience grace as both a receiver and a giver.
- Grace gives to others and grace receives from others.
- Paul said those who give unto you, you also give unto them.
Grace is a trade, Giving is a trade.
- “It is more blessed to give than to receive”, Jesus said, because it’s a human tendency to get, and get and not give.
- Doing that cuts the flow of grace.
- Do not let the grace given to you be in vain. 2 Cor 6:1 “We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.”
- “Give and it is given unto you good measure, pressed down shaken together and running over.”
- Everyone who gives receives but those who know the grace of giving and give from grace receive the good measure / the grace measure.
- The Good measure is three levels of receiving.
- God loves a cheerful giver. If you are not happy about giving don’t give because it will not please God.
The 3 levels of the good measure.
- Pressed down
- Shaken together
- Running over
- Which is practical “I will open the windows of heaven and pour you a blessing.”
New wineskin giving.
- We are asked to present our bodies as living sacrifices which is our most reasonable act of worship.
- One day I heard God say, “The grace of giving is part of presenting our bodies as a living sacrifice”.
- Giving our money, time and services are all product of our bodies.
- Giving is an act of worship.
- Worship among other things is doing that which pleases God.
- God loves a cheerful giver; giving pleases God.
- We recommended to trade consistently and giving is a trade.
When to give.
- Give whenever God tells you.
- Give as soon as he tells you.
- Give when you receive from others, especially those who are fathering you.
- Don’t wait for an abundance of money to give.
- Give from the abundance of your heart.
- Give when you want to receive and walk in the revelation that a person has.
- Give with joy.
- Give to receive a blessing. For it is more blessed to give than to receive.
