What fruit is there from Giving ?

You May Have an Unknown Need

Bill Brady   9/10/18

We don’t have paid ministers.

  • We see it as old wineskin.
  • For two reasons.
  • 1) We try not to minister.  We try to facilitate others into their destinies.
  • 2) We don’t pay facilitators.

This doesn’t mean that we don’t have bills to pay.

  • We have the same bills to pay that you do.
  • With the addition of some other bills like monthly payments for Zoom.

We rely on the LORD to meet the needs of our facilitating fathers.

  • Each is giving of themselves and of their time.
  • This doesn’t mean that they aren’t working.
  • Each of our facilitating fathers works hard.
  • They make is seem easy.
  • But that doesn’t mean that it is isn’t work.
  • It is work.
  • Hard work.

All of you who are parents know what it means to have concern for your children.

  • Fathers have concerns about their children.
  • Here is one of my biggest concerns for this family.

Some give.

  • Some give consistently and generously.
  • I thank you for myself and for my sons who are facilitating fathers.

But many have been observing from a distance.

  • Receiving the revelation that we freely give.
  • Giving nothing in return.
  • Many are giving elsewhere in the Body of Christ.
  • But give nothing here.

This is a concern.

  • But not just for us and our facilitators.
  • I am concerned for you.

Our facilitators are learning two lessons.

Lesson #1:

“Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content:  I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.” Philippians 4:11-12

  • We all need to learn how to be content.
  • Whether we are full and abounding or hungry and suffering need.

Lesson #2:

“Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that abounds to your account.”  Philippians 4:17

  • Paul looked past his need to the need of those that he was writing to.
  • We all need to learn to look past any physical need that we have.
  • To see the spiritual need of those who we have been giving to.

Each of us has a need to sow so that we will produce fruit.

  • Paul wasn’t looking for a gift when he spoke of these things to the Philippians.
  • He was looking for fruit that would abound to the account of those who would give.

I am looking for all to bear fruit.

  • No one can bear fruit without first sowing seed.
  • We are each meant to bear fruit.
  • We need to sow seed.
  • Because we reap what we sow.

Many are sowing into older wineskins.

  • This is good.
  • I myself spent much of my lifetime sowing into older wineskins.

Consider your need to sow into the new.

  • You reap what you sow.
  • You bear fruit according to what you sow into.

Look at where you sow.

  • You sow where your heart is.
  • Where is your heart?
  • Is it transitioning into this new wineskin?

Consider transitioning your giving into the new.

  • We each sow seed where our heart is.
  • We reap what we sow into.
  • I suggest that you consider transition your giving into the new.
  • As you do you are transitioning your heart into the new.

This family is highest quality soil.

  • Sow into the new.
  • Sow into highest quality soil.

Some are unable to sow financial seed for various very legitimate reasons.

  • Your spouse controls the family finances.
  • You live in a poor nation.
  • You live on a fixed income.
  • Some in these situations have sought other ways to sow into OUB.
  • Like volunteering time.
